You agree to the privacy policy below, and the Privacy Policy for Substack, the technology provider.
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 16 August 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Nouman Qureshi (”I”, “me”, or “my”) handles information in connection with Tech Founder’s Notebook, a personal publication available at noumanq.com and hosted on Substack (the “Publication”).
I take a straightforward approach to privacy. This Publication is a personal newsletter. I collect very little, I do not sell your information, and I use it only to run the Publication and understand how it is read.
Who is responsible for your information
Tech Founder’s Notebook is a personal publication operated by Nouman Qureshi, based in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. For any privacy questions or requests, you can reach me at noumanq@gmail.com.
Because the Publication is hosted on Substack and uses Substack’s tools, Substack also processes information on my behalf as part of providing that service. Substack maintains its own Terms of Use and Privacy Policy that govern its platform, and I encourage you to read them.
What information is collected
Information you provide. When you subscribe, you provide your email address. If you leave a comment, send a message, or reply to an email, I receive whatever information you choose to include.
Information collected automatically. When you read the Publication or visit noumanq.com, limited technical information is collected automatically, such as your approximate location, device and browser type, and how you interact with posts and emails (for example, whether an email was opened or a link was clicked). This happens through Substack’s own systems and through analytics tools described below.
Payment information. The Publication is currently free. No payment information is collected. If paid subscriptions are introduced in the future, payments will be handled by a third-party payment processor, and this Policy will be updated to explain how that information is handled. I will not store your full card details.
Analytics and cookies
I use Google Analytics to understand how the Publication and website are read, for example which posts are popular and how visitors find the site. Google Analytics uses cookies and similar technologies to collect standard internet and usage information. This data helps me improve what I write and how the site works.
Google processes this information on my behalf as a service provider, and Google may process it in accordance with its own privacy terms. The information collected through analytics is used in aggregate and is not used to personally identify individual readers.
Substack also uses cookies and similar technologies as a necessary part of operating the platform, delivering emails, and keeping you signed in.
Most browsers let you control or block cookies through their settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the site work. Depending on where you are located, you may also be shown a cookie notice that lets you choose which non-essential cookies to allow.
How your information is used
Information is used to:
send you the Publication and related emails you have subscribed to
respond to your messages, comments, and replies
understand how the Publication is read so I can improve it
keep the Publication and website secure and working properly
comply with legal obligations that apply to me
I do not sell your personal information, and I do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.
Who your information is shared with
Your information is shared only with the service providers that make the Publication possible, and only so they can perform their function. These currently include Substack (hosting, email delivery, subscriber management) and Google Analytics (website and readership analytics). Each processes information on my behalf.
Information may also be disclosed if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of readers, the public, or me.
Where your information is held
The Publication is hosted on Substack, and analytics are provided by Google. These providers may store and process information on servers located outside the United Arab Emirates, including in the United States. By subscribing to or using the Publication, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in these locations, which may have different data protection rules than your own country.
How long your information is kept
Your subscriber information is kept for as long as you remain subscribed, and for a reasonable period afterward. If you unsubscribe or ask me to delete your information, I will remove it from my subscriber records, subject to any information I am required to keep by law. Analytics information is retained according to the analytics provider’s standard retention settings.
Your choices and rights
You are in control of your subscription:
Unsubscribe at any time using the link at the bottom of any email, or through your Substack account settings.
Access, correct, or delete the information held about you by contacting me at noumanq@gmail.com.
Object to analytics by using browser controls or available opt-out tools.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under local data protection laws, including the right to access, correct, delete, or restrict the use of your information, and the right to complain to a data protection authority. I will honor these rights as they apply to you. To make any request, email me at noumanq@gmail.com.
Children
The Publication is intended for adults and is not directed at children. I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under the age required by the laws of their country. If you believe a child has provided information, contact me and I will remove it.
Changes to this Policy
I may update this Policy from time to time, for example if I add paid subscriptions or change the tools I use. When I do, I will update the date at the top. Significant changes may be communicated by email or a notice on the site.
